Roland Meyer de Voltaire

"As a singer, producer, songwriter and film music composer, I am always on the lookout for a personal expression that manages to make multi-layered complexity comprehensible and, above all, tangible. I always like to experiment with new forms and colors.

Just as I pursued my path as a singer-songwriter in the 00s with my band "Voltaire", and now with my project "Schwarz", I like to put myself at the service of other artists (Schiller, Enno Bunger, Megaloh) and cinematic works ("Tom Meets Zizou", "Trainer!").

Be it delicate and intimate with acoustic guitar or piano, pounding and driven with electronic beats and synthesizers, with organic string arrangements and my voice, sometimes cutting, sometimes soothing: In each of my compositions I search for my own sound language and in doing so I constantly expand my musical space of experience and movement anew."
