About: Animal Erectus was first performed at the Deutsches Hygiene Museum in Dresden as an artistic encounter between a writer and a dancer. At the time, Harald Martenstein was a well-known columnist for Die Zeit, known for his sharp and witty observations on the intricacies of life in Germany. Meritxell Campos Olivé created her movements according to Martenstein's prose.

The performance of "Animal Erectus" was musically supported by saxophonist Lars Dietrich and drummer Uwe Breunig. The boundaries between literature, dance, and music dissolve in this piece, allowing different art forms to mix and harmonize.
